Neon snake nail art

Hi all.

Today a very short post. I'm busy swatching a gorgeous Halloween collection.
This nail art was done a while ago but I never got to post it.
Now it's time, because it's the last picture for a while with nails this long :(

I've used a great amount of neon polishes...and I don't remember which exact.
Needless to say the design is free hand.

Hope you like it!
And see you again with my shorties :D

I'm on vacation!

Last year I still managed to make a nail art each day for my challenge.
This year I'm not even taking my laptop with me.
The purpose of vacation is to really rest and have fun with my loved ones.
That's why this is my vacation notice :D

Feel free to read my content so far and please keep commenting as I will come back and catch up with everything at the beginning of August.
I hope you'll forgive me and stick around.

Love Margriet.

P.S. Perhaps I will post some haul pictures or holiday fun on IG and/or Facebook
 Instagram (@365daysofnailart)

On my nails: randomly sponged neon lacquers.
Topped with a LED topcoat as I hope this mani will last the whole vacation ;D
The hand art is made with blacklight (UV-light) paint.

I also made a bracelet.
My first attempt at working with acrylic powder and liquid.
Except from the bands it's all nail related products that I've used:
- acrylic powder (white)
- acrylic liquid
- polish
- acrylic paint
- nail art rings (metal)

I'm going to dance my ass off in those blacklights :D

See you and thanks for reading, commenting and sharing the love ♥

Abstract neon nails

Not the most unique nail art today but I really needed a neon nail art :D
I decided to spice it up a bit by using different techniques.

Step-by-step:
1) After the basecoat apply a white polish on all the nails.
Let it dry completely; adding a topcoat can speed up the drying time.
2) Randomly place striping tape on the nails and try to create a modern abstract design.
3) Cut a (make-up) sponge into small pieces.
4) Get your neon polishes and start to randomly sponge the colors on the nails.
Use a small piece of sponge per color.
5) Remove striping tape.
6) Add topcoat

Polishes used:
* Models Own - Luis Lemon
* Models Own - Bubblegum
* Models Own - Toxic Apple
* Orly Baked - Ablaze
* Orly Baked - Hot Tropics
* Bourjois - Blue no blues

Neon water spotted nails

The hot weather has been gone for a while now and I'm really looking forward to some more heat and sun again.
I can't change the weather but I can bring some brightness with my nails :D

I wanted neons and decided to go with the water spotted technique.
For those who are new to it...here is a great tutorial by +cutepolish

Polishes used:
- Essence Hup Holland Hup 02 Hattrick! (white)
- Models Own Luis Lemon (yellow)
- Models Own Toxic Apple (green)
- Models Own Bubblegum (pink)
- Orly Baked Hot Tropics (purple)
- Bourjois Blue no blues (blue)

I used perfume for spraying and have bright scented nails now :D

Neon feather nail art

Now that I have a blacklight I just had to play around with stuff I already own.

I started by painting a not so intriguing feather nail art design using the following polishes:
- China Glaze Liquid Leather (background)
- Models Own Luis Lemon
- Models Own Toxic Apple
- Models Own Bubblegum
- Orly Baked Tropical Pop
- Orly Baked Ablaze
There really is no point in making it too detailed as the lamp doesnt give a complete clear image.
For the ring finger and pinky I used my neon glitters.

Are you ready for the blacklight picture?

The blacklight makes it even more fun to use neon products.
I'm already loving the brights but when it starts to glow...
"I feel like a kid in a fairy world" :D

Day 252) Nail art inspired by shoes

By little girl has the cutest shoes!
Disco shoes with neons, glitter, rhinestones and lights (yes, real flickering lights).
She loves them and so do I ;-D

Today's nail art is inspired by these shoes.

What did I do:
- Index: White base with neons gradient (simular to the toe part of the shoe)
- Middle: Purple glitter on black base (shoe-lace part)
- Ring: Black base with neon dotted circles (heart circles shoe) and joined hearts (sides of the shoe)
- Pinky: White base with mint and pink stripes (sole) and rhinestones (toe part)

Day 191) Nail art cat eye marble

It's just no fun working with nail polish with this kind of temperatures.
Before my brush even touches my nail, the polish on the brush has dried out.
Therefore my nail arts require the more watery polishes; for example the neons.
Today another neon nail art, this time inspired by a cat eye marble of the children.

Day 131) Velvet nails neon

Today was a busy day and I'm so tired.
The last thing that I want to think about are my nails.
But a challenge is a challenge and I don't like to give up!

However, I did choose to do a simple nail art.
Something that's easy to do and doesn't need much explanation.
So, I took out the velvet again.

The velvet I have is in neon colors and also has a fine glitter. Perfect for summer I think.
The colors I used are:
-Neon pink
-Neon blue
-Neon orange
-Neon green

One nail is in pink, one in blue, one in orange and one in green. I chose to do an accent nail on the ring finger with the 4 colors combined into a flower.
As glue for the velvet I use a cheap topcoat. For the flower I used a dottingtool to apply the topcoat.

Instructions for velvet nails are very simple:
* It's recommended to paint your nails in the same colour as your velvet. When you don't hit every spot of the nail it doesn't show that well.
I have to admit I used a light yellow colour as my base. You can tell this isn't the same as my neons but I didn't want to have the extra work of painting my nails in different colors.
* Use the wet nail polish as a glue or apply a clear coat for glue
* Apply the velvet. Just drop it on the nail and remove the surplus velvet by blowing or careful brushing

When you're combining colors on one nail. Work with one colour at the time.

See you tomorrow hopefully with more energy!

Day 126) Casuelle Neon nailpolish

Allereerst een opmerking voor al mijn Nederlandse viewers. Mijn Nederlandse blog kun je hier vinden.

We have a toy store in the Netherlands called Intertoys. Besides toys they sell some girls stuff.
This includes nailpolish (color, crackle, neon), striping tape, billions/beads/caviar, nail art pens etc.
Don't expect top quality but the prices are very nice!

Neon nailpolish is hard to get in the Netherlands. Just a few brands have this in their collection and it's expensive. The same goes for buying them online.

So, when I came along these neon nail polishes I've just had to try them.

The Casuelle neon nailpolish comes in 4 different shades:

>Neon yellow, neon coral, neon green and neon pink.

The brush is simple as what you can expect with low budget polishes.

N.B. Keep in mind that every light or bright colour needs more layers/coats to get that full opacity. I always recommend that you give your nails a white base before using any of these colors.

After my white base I applied these polishes with my own brush. They applied watery > even with the white base it looked like they were needing at least 2 coats. I hate this! I chose to apply it very thick and was hoping it was ever going to dry...
To my surprise this thick layer dried even faster than any other nail polish I own. Conclusion: they have to be applied very thick!
The neon colors are in fact real neon colors (I regret that this doesn't show on the pictures that well).
I do think the coral and pink look too much alike. There is just a slightly difference when they are apllied on the nails.
I'm not a huge neon fan:
The weather in The Netherlands isn't that sunny. And neon for me means: sunny, palm trees, beaches, suntanned skin (all very hard to find here). So perfect for the summer holidays when we go abroad.

My overall opinion is that you have some great neon colors for an even greater price!

My main goal was to swatch these nail polishes so I added some simple nail art with black striping tape.
Curious about the look? Here it is:

Please keep in mind that the colors don't show well on the pictures; this really is NEON!

In addition:
I've had to made some pictures in the sun hoping to get a better result and it did. So, here is a picture which gives a better idea of the neon colors:

My question for you: Do you have the brand 'Casuelle' and are you familiar with these neon polishes?
Please let me know...thanks!

Day 123) Neon light nail art

Think of neon lights...and now picture this on your nails. Impossible?
No. You can get the look and it's not that hard to do.

I came up with this nail art and I hope you like it!

Step-by-step tutorial:

1) Paint your nails black

2) Use a brush and white nail polish to make any shapes you like. Don't make the lines too thin

3) Use bright colors (or preferably neon colors) to paint all the white

Already a nice look but we aren't there yet ;D

4) Take a white striper or use a nail art brush and white nail polish to make a thin white line in the middle of all your colored shapes

Let the nails dry and finish it with a topcoat.

Done!

They are awesome and I keep looking at them!
Like or hate? Let me know!
