Lace nails

It's been such a long time since my last entry for the weekly challenge over at Nail Polish Queens (NPQ) community.

Which is actually sad because I really like those weekly challenges and the community!

This week the challenge is: Lace

Although I consider myself more of a free hand painter, lace is a thing that looks just weird when I'm doing it free hand.

And, let's be honest, the lace patterns on stamps and decals are out of this world!

Today I bring you another nail art with the use of water decals.

And again, these came from Born Pretty Store.

Let's have a look at them :D

Artmaze S008 lace water decals

As you can see there are black and white lace patterns and I immediately had to think about a wedding themed nail art.

As a base for my nail art I've used this gorgeous polish by Dance Legend.

Anna Gorelova by Dance Legend 03 Gold Fish

Gold Fish is a sheer platinum gold filled with larger scattered holo particles that look like white gold particles without direct lighting,

A polish really suited for wedding nails.

However, when I started applying this polish it was kind of sheer. It did build up but it took me about 5 coats to have it as I please.

Application was really easy and I was able to apply the other coats very soon after the previous.

But...I smudged a nail right after finishing application and had to start all over again.

I decided to make it more easy for myself by using a 1 coater platinum gold as base for the Gold Fish...leading it to be used more as a topcoat.

The color underneath Gold Fish is:

Maybelline Forever Strong Pro 820 Winner takes it all!

I cut the water decals so I could make a V-shape (Chevron).

I'm really pleased with the elegance.

Day 308) Elegant sexy

I wanted to do another nail art for the 'sexy' challenge.
I decided to make some kind of delicate lace design which is sometimes seen on lingerie.
Now that it is finished I think it's more an elegant design rather than 'sexy' but as long as it's on lingerie as well I guess some people find it sexy ;-D

Day 170) Nail art mixing styles

The title of my post suggest I thought about this nail art and that it has been intentionally.
Not true... ;D

I had a very busy day after a too short night and Í was really exhausted.
No inspiration, no motivation.
Just wanted it to be done.

Don't ask me how I came up with this...it just happened...

Here it is:

It has a little bit of everything of me in it:
*Natural nude
*Sexy lace
*Wild animal print
*Classic red
At the end it turned out to be a quite trendy nail art I think...great to show the man you love what you've got ;D
And even greater for those (like me) who can't make up their mind :P

Day 118) Laser Lace

For today I have some Laser lace designs I want to show you.
I already did a laser strands nail art on a previous blogpost.
I liked the overall look but the strands weren't easy to use.
The laser lace looks like laser strands but then pressed together as a kind of lace.

The white material that you see on the picture is a felt-like paper. It's for protection of the lace and also makes it somehow easier to cut the lace in the desired design.

Usage:

1. Cut out a piece of laser lace
2. Remove the felt-like paper (if you haven't done this already)
3. Apply some clear coat on the nail
4. Stick the piece of laser lace on the nail
5. Finish it with topcoat

For this nail art I want to swatch my new nail polish. So here it is:

This is Essence LE Floral Grunge nail polish The pearl - Nr. 02 Lily Bloom
I love this colour! It's white with a little sparkle in it which gives it the pearly look.
It is so classy and perfect for weddingnails. Only two thin layers of nail polish is enough.

Because it is so simple to use I only have a few pictures:

Cut the laser lace in the right shape and remove the felt-like paper

Put on a clear coat and use this as a glue for the laser lace.
Stick the laser lace on the nail and cut off the excess.
Finish with topcoat.
Done!

It's all the same when you are using the laser lace only as a detail on the nail. The only difference is the shape and size you cut:

And this is the overall look:

I really love this look and so does my husband. It's lovely and sweet and very classy for a diner, a party or a wedding.
It's so much easier to use than the laser strands. Cut and stick that's all!

To accent the laser lace I used some other material as well;
-Round rhinestone and rectangular rhinestones on the ring finger
-Striping tape on the middle finger
-Crushed shell on the index finger
-Diamond-shaped flitter on the thumb
