Day 257) Nail art Valentino Fall background

Today I've been looking at some Fall fashion.
I ended up at Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2013 collection.
And the following image had my special interest:

Besides it's a very beautiful collection, this image had my interest for the background.

Dark wall with golden accents (like sunflowers, fireworks or mirrors).

I thought this would be a great background to translate into a nail art and I did:

Step 1) After the basecoat I applied two coats of Muir Muir on the Wall-OPI San Fransisco mini
Step 2) With a striper brush I made the bronze and golden designs
Step 3) In the centre of the designs I applied golden studs (round, different shapes)
To complete the look I also applied some golden beads

Day 256) Fall look flowers

Today my mind was set on a flower nail art...it happens ☺
In the Netherlands fall has started with rain, wind and coldness.
Therefore I wanted to give the flowers a more fall look;
making it warm and keeping the design small.

Working method:
1) Started with a beige base
2) Lightly sponged with gold
3) Handpainted flowers and leaves
4) Matte topcoat

Day 255) Nail art squirrel

Loving fall nail arts!
Why? Well, mostly because it gives me new inspiration and ideas.
My challenge has many ups and downs.
Most important thing to keep me going is knowing what to make.
Seeking inspiration and not finding it, is killing.
It takes so much more time; time which at that point I want to use for my dear ones...

But enough with the chit chat, here is today's nail art

Day 254) Nail art leaves

Today my first fall nail art and I'm loving it!

Let's start with a swatch shall we.

KOH Colours! - Metallic Green! 127

No sun in the Netherlands. Above are indoor pictures. With and without flash.
Isn't it beautiful???
I'm so in love with good holo's!

It took me about 4 coats to get it nice (I don't have the patience to wait between coats, so maybe you could do it with less).
Holo's have a specific way of applying I think; the metallic parts want to bind together and with your second stroke you're taking away some of your first.
My trick is to load the brush with a pretty amount of polish and try to barely touch the nail as I'm applying it.
Another way is to paint your nails in the regular way. Fill up holes by dotting the polish and wait till your covered (not even) nail is dry. Then apply a final layer to make it a smooth surface.
The color is kinda hard to describe: it's a greyish, silver, minty color. But the minty green overrules the rest. The holo is just perfect!

Now, let's have a look at my first fall nail art and start with something you can expect with fall nail arts: Leaves
For the leaves I used a striper brush and some different metallic polishes (brown, green, plum).

Day 253) Nail art inspired by earrings

For today I was looking for a fast, not too difficult nail art.
Again some proof that really everything around you can be an inspiration.
Today my inspiration is an earring.

But first I have a swatch for you.
Douglas has it's own line of nail polish "Absolute" and it's been there for a while but only in the bigger cities. Finally my little town/city got these polishes as well ☺
And they are available for a nice price 6,55 USD

Absolute by Douglas - Maria 09

This color looks a lot like the more expensive Chanel lacquer 'Paradoxal'.
It's a duo lacquer of grey/brown tones and purple/violet.
In the dark/shade the color looks like a brown. In brighter light there is more purple to witness.
Polish and applying are good. Two thin coats (or one thick coat) is enough for good coverage.
N.B. I didn't apply any topcoat and within hours I already had some damages (bumping and a little chipping at the tip). I recommend you use a topcoat!

Now, for the nail art.
I think it turned out to be a stylish, classy nail art.
So, a big thanks to the earrings ☺

Day 252) Nail art inspired by shoes

By little girl has the cutest shoes!
Disco shoes with neons, glitter, rhinestones and lights (yes, real flickering lights).
She loves them and so do I ;-D

Today's nail art is inspired by these shoes.

What did I do:
- Index: White base with neons gradient (simular to the toe part of the shoe)
- Middle: Purple glitter on black base (shoe-lace part)
- Ring: Black base with neon dotted circles (heart circles shoe) and joined hearts (sides of the shoe)
- Pinky: White base with mint and pink stripes (sole) and rhinestones (toe part)

Day 251) Psychedelic nail art

Okay, today's nail art just happened.
I've been playing around with water marbling as I was trying to get some panorama effect (water marble that runs trough over all the nails).
What I had in mind didn't work out.
I did achieve some kind of panorama effect but it didn't take any marbling activities; I simply dropped color after color on the water service and dipped my 4 nails in it (together).

Outcome is okay I think.
I was kinda bored with the colors and took my striper brush and black polish to spice it up a bit.
Free handed some designs and it turned out to be quite psychedelic...and I couldn't think of a better name ;D
